Chapora is situated in Goa Indian state and it is present at northern part. It would be originating through small village and that is known by the name of Hajoli and it is present near to Belgaum and then it would be flowing in Tilari Ghat and it would be entering in Goa. This is one of the rivers that would be flowing in Arabian Sea and Vagator beach is situated on its south and Village Morjim is situated on its north and they are very popular.

You would get to view here coffin Bridge and this is mainly the box bridge and that would be separating green paddy through northern side settlements. Prior to merging into Baga Arabian Sea, it would be flowing on Baga Beach sides. Sangodd is one of the most popular festivals that are celebrated at this place.

This Mandovi River would be originating through Bhimgad and it lies in Sahyadri mountains range. It is also known through the name of Mhadei and it is regarded as Goa backbone and it is known for having largest basin drainage and it would be flowing for 77 kms. It would be entering Goa through the North region and then it would be flowing through Divadi, Chodne, Cumbarjua. Both of them would be getting evacuated in Arabian Sea and this is also one of the common points at Cabo Aguada. Panaji is regarded as state capital and they are located on Mandovi river left bank. It is also known through the name of Gomati and it comprises of many tributaries that is Rogaro, Nanorem, Kushavati, Mapusa and Valvota. It is available in remote areas and easily accessible for ships and it is utilized for bringing iron ore through mines in eastern hills. There are 2 islands that are Vashee, Chorao and Divar and all of them are present at Old Goa town.

This Zuari River is one of the largest rivers that is present In Goa State. It is one of the tidal rivers and it is having 34 kms length. It would be originating through Hemad-Barshem that is in Western Ghata. It is also referred by the name of Aghanashani in interior region. It would be flowing in south and west direction and through Tiswadi, Mormugao, Ponda and Quepem. These Mandovi and Zuari River would be forming Goa backbone and it is utilized for agricultural activities as well. Cumbarjuem canal would be linking 2 rivers and that would enable navigation of interior designs into ore mines. Mandovi waters along with zuari would be flushing into Arabian sea and that would be the common point and it would form Mormugao Harbour. This is one of the port cities and Vasco da Gama is present on Zuari River.

It is considered to be the 3rd largest river as well as 3rd largest basin and it is known for having the hydrological and geological oddity.

The entire area that is presented adjacent to river is very low and comprises of fair population especially of the Sonoratia sp, Mangrove spp and Rhizophora.

 

The entire area that is present around river is very serene and it is one of the perfect birding sites as well. You would also get to check out the grey herons, owl, robins, Brahmi kites and these are present in ample of numbers.
